Tour Adviser – Tour & Travel Services

Welcome to Tour Adviser. By booking a tour, taxi, hotel, or any travel-related service with us (online, offline, or through our representatives), you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.

1. Booking Confirmation

  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.

  • A booking is considered confirmed only after receiving the required advance payment.

  • The final itinerary, hotel details, and vehicle details are shared prior to arrival or at the time of confirmation.

2. Cancellation & Amendment Policy

Cancellation Charges

  • Before 21 days of the date of arrival: No retention / no cancellation charge

  • 15 – 21 days before arrival: 50% of the first night stay will be charged

  • 07 – 15 days before arrival: 100% of the first night stay will be charged

  • Less than 07 days before arrival: 100% of the total tour cost will be charged as retention

Important Notes on Cancellation

  • Any cancellation related to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, Nathula Pass, Lachung, Lachen, or North Sikkim is non-refundable once permits are issued, irrespective of weather, road conditions, landslides, snowfall, VIP movement, or army restrictions.

  • If sightseeing is missed due to natural calamities, roadblocks, snowfall, or political disturbances, no refund shall be applicable.

  • Refunds (if applicable) will be processed only to the original mode of payment through which the booking was made.

  • Refund processing may take up to 15 working days.

  • No refund will be provided for unutilized services including but not limited to:

    • Meals

    • Entrance fees

    • Optional activities

    • Hotel stays

    • Sightseeing

    • Transportation (surface or air)

All refunds are processed only in INR (Indian Rupees).

3. Vehicle Usage Policy

  • Vehicles are not provided on a disposal basis and are not booked for the entire day.

  • Vehicle services are time-bound and operate strictly as per the confirmed itinerary.

  • Vehicles are provided on a point-to-point basis only.

  • Vehicles will not be available for:

    • Market visits

    • Shopping

    • Dinner

    • Personal or unscheduled activities

  • Air-conditioning will not be used in hilly regions.

  • Vehicle types may change from one sector to another due to local regulations and availability.

  • Guests are advised not to leave any personal belongings in the vehicle, as vehicles may change during the tour.

  • Any detour or itinerary rearrangement due to landslides, roadblocks, weather conditions, political disturbances, train or flight delays may incur additional charges, payable directly to the driver.

4. Hotel Policy

  • All hotel bookings are made in base category rooms unless otherwise specified in writing.

  • Hotels in Lachen and Lachung (North Sikkim) are generally basic lodge-style accommodations.

  • Facilities in North Sikkim hotels are limited:

    • No room heaters

    • No power backup

    • Basic amenities only

  • Meals in North Sikkim are usually simple and mostly vegetarian.

  • Even if 3-star or higher category hotels are booked at other destinations, North Sikkim hotels will remain basic due to location constraints.

5. Sightseeing & Excursion Policy

  • Sightseeing is subject to road conditions, weather, and government permissions.

  • Missed sightseeing due to any reason will not be covered on subsequent days.

  • No refund will be provided for missed or unused sightseeing.

  • On the day of the Gurudongmar Lake excursion, breakfast is usually packed (bread, butter, jam). Guests may stop at cafes at Thangu for additional food at their own cost.

6. Permit & Restricted Area Policy

  • Visits to restricted/protected areas such as Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, Nathula Pass, North Sikkim (Lachen/Lachung) require special permits.

  • Once permits are issued, no refund will be applicable under any circumstances.

  • Sightseeing permissions are governed by the Department of Tourism, Gangtok, and vehicle movement may be restricted, especially during winter months (December to March).

7. Documents Required for Travel in Sikkim (Indian Citizens)

Accepted Documents

  • Voter ID / Passport / Driving License (Original)

  • 4–6 photocopies (front & back)

  • 4–6 passport-size photographs per traveller

Children

  • Birth certificate or school/college ID clearly mentioning address and parents’ name (Original + photocopies)

Important Notes

  • Aadhaar Card and PAN Card are not accepted for permits (can be used only for hotel check-in).

  • Documents must be shared via WhatsApp or Email at least 48 hours before arrival along with traveller details (Name, Age, Gender).

  • These rules are not applicable to Foreign Nationals, NRI, OCI, or PIO cardholders, who must follow separate permit regulations.

8. Supplement / Optional Costs

  • Optional services are not mandatory and will be charged only if availed.

  • Example:

    • Nathula Pass (Ex-Gangtok): INR 5,000 per cab

Prices are subject to change based on government regulations and availability.

9. Force Majeure

Tour Adviser shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or changes due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, political unrest, pandemics, or government restrictions.

10. Jurisdiction

All disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Siliguri, West Bengal, India.

11. Acceptance of Terms

By booking any service with Tour Adviser, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all the above Terms and Conditions.
